Hello! My name is LJ Milone. I am from Rockville Centre, NY but have been living in Maryland for a number of years. I am 36 years old, and enjoy being married to a wonderful woman, Jessica. We have two beautiful girls. Life is full of blessings.
I have been practicing Centering Prayer for 17 years and have gone deep into the Catholic tradition. My spirituality is greatly influenced by Francis of Assisi, Meister Eckhart, the Cloud of Unknowing, Thomas Keating, Richard Rohr, Anthony De Mello, and, ultimately, the teachings of Jesus.
I serve as a pastoral minsiter at a Catholic parish in Silver Spring, MD. I serve the faith formation needs of children as well as adults. I have been serving the faith community of St. John's since June of 2007.
I lead many retreats, give many lectures, and teach a number of classes all around the topics of the teachings of Jesus, contemplative prayer, Centering Prayer, Christian mysticism, and contemporary spirituality.
If your church, faith community, or non-religious group has need of a lecture, class, or retreat on Christian mysticism, contemplative prayer and its practices, Christian spirituality, or on Catholicism in general (e.g., the sacraments, or its history), please contact me. I am happy to serve your needs.
I am very open to different types of people and feel eager to dialogue with people of other religious traditions as well as those who do not identify with any religious tradition. I believe everyone has dignity regardless of religious belief and that everyone has a sacred story to tell. I am here to listen.
I am also a spiritual director! I received my training at the Hesychia School of Spiritual Direction in Tucson, AZ. I am currently open to new directess. I cannot wait to meet you.
My practice of spiritual direction reverences your story and your journey. I honor the wisdom within you, and trust that you have all you need to grow and flourish. Further, my practice of spiritual direction is always committed to being open, supportive, and affirming of LGBTQ persons.
